Catalytic oxidation:
A solution for harmful gas treatment coming from stationary sources

In many industrial sectors (paint, automobile, chemical industry, metal coating, combustion, cement works, foodstuffs industry, printing industry, etc.) it is necessary to treat volatile organic compounds. Catalytic oxidation enables to eliminate them and meet the regulatory requirements for a very low energy cost.

In this area, ALSYS offers solutions for the low temperature treatment of harmful compounds, including Carbon monoxide, Methanol, Formaldehyde, BTX, Ethanol, Acetaldehyde, n-Hexane, Acetate, Ethyl acetate and others. ALSYS also offers catalysts for the decomposition of ozone (O3) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), used respectively in aeronautical applications and hospital and pharmaceutical industries.

This knock down is obtained in particular through the use of catalytic formulations based on precious and non-precious metals, finely divided on chosen mineral oxides. ALSYS adapts the geometry of the solutions offered depending on the targeted application. Thus, catalysts can either be manufactured in the shape of extruded shapes (monolobes, trilobes, etc.), ceramic foams or honeycombs obtained by enduction of active phases on inert ceramic (e.g. Corderite) or metallic substrates (e.g.  FeCralloy). The latter often offers a better activity/loss of load ratio.
