MEASURED Membranes and Pilot Equipment
MEASURED Membranes and Pilot Equipment for More Sustainable Chemistry
In a context where the energy transition and the reduction of environmental impact are major challenges, the European project MEASURED brings together top-level expertise to reinvent industrial processes. Driven by an international consortium of companies, research centers, and universities, this ambitious project aims to develop innovative membrane solutions and pilot equipment capable of meeting the sustainability challenges of the chemical industry.
Membranes under development for more responsible processes
The teams at Orelis Environnement and CTI, in collaboration with partners such as TNO, Arkema, and the University of Marseille, are focusing their efforts on the development of HybSi-type pervaporation membranes designed to better withstand acidic environments. These membranes, at an advanced stage of development and scaling-up, are integrated into prototypes for testing under industrial conditions. The objective: to validate their potential to improve the yield of chemical syntheses while reducing energy consumption and the formation of by-products.
In early June 2025, key deliverables were presented to the MEASURED project officers, highlighting the progress made and confirming the consortium’s commitment to achieving the set objectives.
The initial experimental results are guiding the necessary adjustments to optimize the performance of these membranes, with a pilot demonstration planned in the near future.
A collective approach in the service of sustainability
The strength of the MEASURED project lies in the diversity of skills and the close collaboration between partners. This dynamic enables the consortium to push the boundaries of membrane technologies and lay the groundwork for industrial processes that are more respectful of the environment.
